FirstCar, Road Safety GB (RSGB) and the RAC Foundation are some of the most powerful brands in the young driver market and they combine forces to present Young Driver Focus 2022. This one-day conference is unique by being focused on cutting young driver casualties by specifically addressing key road safety issues for this high-risk group of drivers - 17-25 year olds.

Now in its seventh year, the event will be held once more at the prestigious, five-star Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London on Wednesday 25th May 2022. It brings together road safety professionals from across the UK, spanning both the public and private sector. The event receives heavyweight backing of key industry bodies such as PACTS, Roadsafe, Road Safety Scotland, RoSPA, and THINK!

Young drivers are more at risk of being involved in a car accident in the first few months of passing their driving test, compared to other road users. As an example, an 18-year-old is at six times higher risk of crashing than their parents and at three times higher risk of crashing than a 35-year-old who has just passed their driving test. Young Driver Focus 2022 will examine current and future thinking with regard to this vital issue, and what is being done now and, in the future, to improve the situation. Technology will continue to play a vital part in the future of young driver safety issues, hence our ‘Technology Matters’ focus in 2022.
